Sage has a slight peppery taste and is considered to have antiseptic and astringent properties, and is a tonic. Leaves are used extensively for flavouring marinades, cheese, poultry, pork, lamb, soups and sauces. Can also be used in herbal tea. Bunches can be dried to scent the pantry.
Care: These tasty vegetables prefer well drained soils and should be fed regularly during the growing season.
